Douglas Coupland. Not my cup of tea, à première vue. Son premier roman avait pour titre Generation X (plus sous-titre); son prochain, une douzaine plus tard? Generation A.
A publié un roman intitulé Microserfs juste avant la sortie du système d'exploitation Windows 95, imaginez-vous!
Le gars se fait une obsession de saisir l'esprit de l'époque, ma foi, comme un oeuf saisit dans la poêle.
Sauf que, m'apprend Wikipedia, il a une sensibilité dite «Christian post-Christian», et ça ça a tendance à me plaire assez*. Et puis, quand je lis ça, voilà, tout s'explique, demandez à un auteur, un vrai, quand vous cherchez - et ceci me prouve que c'en est un vrai:

«Generation A mirrors the structure of 1991's Generation X as it champions the act of reading and storytelling as one of the few defenses we still have against the constant bombardment of the senses in a digital world».
